Google AdSense Key Facts

Two million people have already chosen AdSense. It helps earn more from your site and has millions of advertisers compete for your ad space. They optimize the size of your ad units to fit desktop or mobile, making them more visible. It helps save time and just adding a piece of code can help show ads tailored to your site's layout.

Google AdSense Publisher Eligibility

Publishers need to have a fully functional website with family-friendly content and some amount of organic traffic. You need to have a privacy policy page clearly stating that you wish to run ads on your blog. Additionally, you need to ensure that your site is easy to navigate and has resourceful content. These are in a nutshell, some of the publisher eligibility criteria. You don't need to have your website live for 6 months to be eligible for AdSense approval. However, publishers need to have some amount of traffic for the approval to speed up.

Google AdSense Revenue Share

AdSense shares 68% of the revenue it generates from ads to its publisher partners. However, for search ads, the revenue share percentage is down to 50%. The revenue share is fixed for any type of publisher, be it large or small.

Google AdSense Ad Formats

Google Adsense offers a number of ad formats- display, native, search ads, content recommendations, auto ads, vignette ads, and anchor ads. These ad formats are auctions in CPC and CPM bids and the ads from the winning bid are shown on the website. AdSense also offers granular reporting based on the performance of the ad units.

Google AdSense Faq

Yes, it is a violation of AdSense's policies. Firstly, you’re not allowed to place ads in a frame within another page. Secondly, you’re not allowed to put ads in your software; e.g., if you control both a page with ads and an app that loads that page, they will take action against it.

AdSense does not allow publishers to mislead users in any way. The only labels they allow to be put above ads are "sponsored links" or "advertisements".

Putting ads around a "download" button may mislead users into thinking that the ads are download links. So AdSense suggests you please always keep your ads far away from "download" links and make “download” buttons readily seen.

Arguably, the Best Ad Network for Niche Websites

I have used Google AdSense on many websites and found it to be the best CPC ad network for niche websites. It does perform well for general-purpose sites as well. However, very few networks can consistently give you CPCs in the range of $2 to $3. On some good days, you can also get CPC clicks that gonna worth more than $10 to $20. Also, the traffic requirements are very moderate to get started with AdSense. Most of the other advertising platforms will require you to have at least 100,000 to be eligible for monetization. Whereas, with Google AdSense, you can get approval for just a couple of thousand monthly visits.

Pros
  1. It is the perfect ad network for entry level publishers since it has very moderate traffic requirements.
  2. CPCs for niche sites can be really high and thus the overall ad revenue can get a boost.
  3. There are a lot of available ad formats and the payments are always on time.
Cons
  1. There aren't any negative that I can write about AdSense.
